Message Ok so yesterday I talk to my mechanic and he says the car is all put back together except he is waiting for the ECU chip from Z1, and then to break it in.

He says he got the chip for JWT 500 cams, GT675RS, dual intake, and 740cc injectors, and 91 octane.

I used him knowing that he wasnt going to dyno tune it himself, just build it, so I am not faulting him on just getting a chip made. But myself, after spending all this money and getting internals upgraded, block and heads worked on, I was wanting a nice tune with power spread throughout the powerband.

So hes getting a chip for it, no big deal, Ill get it tuned later, right? So I call Z Clinic in Austin to ask if they have a tuner or a dyno and the guy tells me that the Z32 doesnt need a dyno tune and that "the chip takes care of everything".

Should I be satisfied with this and not really put a priority on a dyno tune? I was wanting the car to be at 95-100% performance when I bring it home and I dont mind going from Houston to Dallas or Austin or wherever after I pick it up to tune it... but I just feel that a chip will leave me at like 80% or less of what the car is capable of....

First, does anyone know a Z dyno tuner ANYWHERE in Texas?

Secondly, does the chip really "take care of everything"?

Sorry once again for asking n00b kweschinz that I should probably know by now but it is coming down to the wire and I just want everything to be great.
